It’s been a while since Canonical has been developing Ubuntu for Devices. Regrettably, it’s not so simple to install it. Yet, if you've want to make an effort for it then dual-booting your Nexus Device.

Lately, Canonical announced an update to its Ubuntu Dual Boot app with the help of which you can dual boot Ubuntu and Android. This means that not only can you check out Ubuntu without experimenting on your phone, but you can see all the new updates as they take place without much mess.
Warning:  As of now Ubuntu for Devices is still under developed condition, and it is almost certainly not a complete package to full in your daily needs. This is the reason why we are about to Dual Boot Ubuntu on Your Android Device. Obviously, you should be expecting some bugs in the OS.

First, apps in Ubuntu uses HTML5, but a number of apps on the platform are in fact just the regular mobile sites. Some apps may ask you to install an Android app when you start them. Do not install them as Ubuntu is not built on Android and Android apps won't work on it. Challenging this and trying to install them or even opening a link to the app can make a mess.

Second, you will need a laptop or PC running Ubuntu because this procedure requires the desktop version of Ubuntu to install the mobile OS on your Android device.  Here are directions for installing Ubuntu together with Windows: How to install Ubuntu using a USB flash drive.

How to Dual Boot Ubuntu on Android:

Enable USB Debugging.

First, you must enable USB debugging on your phone or tablet.
Here's how to do so:

  • Open the Settings and select "About phone."(Or About Tablet)
  • Click "Build number"  7 times to enable developer mode.
  • Go back to the Settings menu.
  • Tap the just this minute available Developer options.
  • Check USB debugging to enable it.
  • Once that's done, connect your tablet/phone to your computer with a micro USB cable.

Installing the Ubuntu Dual Boot App.

Next, download the Ubuntu Dual Boot installer script from here to your home directory. Then follow these instructions:

  • Open a Terminal window by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T all together.
  • Run the following command to make the script executable:     chmod +x dualboot.sh
  • Execute the script by running the following command:     ./dualboot.sh

Note: In my experiment with a Nexus 7 on a fresh Ubuntu install, the script got trapped in a loop attempting to execute a curl command (as shown below). If this occurs to you, close the Terminal window, open a new one, and run the this command to install the package: sudo apt-get install curl This will install the essential component. Once that's complete, run the dual boot installation script again.

Downloading and Installing Ubuntu for Devices.

The script will run involuntarily and will reset your device a number of times. Once this is complete, your phone or tablet should boot back up to the Android home screen. Now, open the new Ubuntu Dual Boot app from your app drawer and then:

  • Click "Choose channel to install."
  • Choose a download channel (Canonical recommends "utopic").
  • Click "Grant" when prompt for super user access.
  • Once Ubuntu has completed downloading and installing, click Reboot to Ubuntu.
  • Well Done! You now have Ubuntu running on your phone or tablet.

Nothing like many other dual boot solutions, you don't select which operating system you want at begin. As an alternative, once you've booted into Android, start the Ubuntu Dual Boot app and click "Reboot to Ubuntu". Your device will then restart into Ubuntu. Regardless of which OS you're in, a hard reset will always boot to Android. This is generally performed by holding down the power button for about ten seconds. There's also a Dual Boot app in Ubuntu for switching back to Android if you wish.

You can also update Ubuntu from either the Ubuntu Dual Boot app in Android or from the system settings in Ubuntu. Nevertheless, both methods require you to be in Android to actually install the update, so it's almost certainly best to just boot into Android first when it's time to update anyhow.

When we talk about Operating Systems for mobile phones and tablets, two names comes in our mind right away that are Android and iOS, the most noticeable mobile operating systems presently available.

Android is developed by Google and can be set up on a very wide range of devices from different manufacturers. Thanks to the fact that Google creates the code for much of Android freely available, anyone from an individual to big companies can build on top of the Android platform. iOS, on the other hand is developed by Apple and works only on precise Apple hardware, like the iPhone and iPad.

Despite the fact that both of these OS are enormously popular, well designed, easy to use and idolized by their respective fans, they are not the only mobile operating systems in the market. There are a few lesser known mobile OS but here is an Alternative to iOS and Android: Ubuntu for Android that may prove a milestone is Mobile OS.

Alternative to iOS and Android: Ubuntu for Android.

Ubuntu maker Canonical is getting into the smartphone business in a big way. In the desktop computing world, Canonical’s Ubuntu Linux has earned momentous grip as a free substitute to OSX and Windows, and they are now self-confident to break into the phone arcade with Ubuntu for Android.
Ubuntu for Android make the most of Android’s kernel (a core element of the OS) and its drivers, but promises to let loose the true command of multicore devices by gaining access to the hardware more efficiently as compared to Android. Canonical, the commercial body behind Ubuntu, minimize the great difference between your phone and your laptop as much as possible by passing a full collection of desktop applications to the mobile arcade. The really attention and focus of Ubuntu For androidis multitasking. Here's How to Dual Boot Ubuntu on Android.

Ubuntu for Android is a solution that lets you dock your Android phone to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to use your phone as a fully equipped desktop computer. When you’re away from your computer, you can use your phone as a normal Android handset.

At the end of the day, they want their users to plug their phones into docks, which delivers an experience like desktop, permitting continuous transitions between work, play and on the go use of your smartphone.

I assume that many of the geek users will be motivated to dual-boot their Android phones and use both operating systems. General users will be more liable to drift to a tablet that allows them to take their Ubuntu experiences from one device to the next with a simple swipe of their finger.

Smartphones working on Ubuntu’s mobile OS should be released sometime this year. Have a glimpse of Ubuntu for Android in the video above.

Google Play overtakes the AppleApp Store with downloads now 25% higher, and app revenue that is gradually overtaking Apple’s sales. The increase is caused by international markets. This is a massive change, in July of this year Google Play had a momentous lead in app downloads, but only had 20 percent of Apple’s app store revenue.

More individuals may use the cheaper Android devices, but until now, a big amount of the income from mobile devices came from Apple. The major difference between Apple’s iPhone users and Google’s Android Phone user is that Apple users downloaded more apps across the board.  iOS users pay more for apps in the app store than Android users do in Play Store.

That may change reasonably in a little while. Regardless of the fact that users pay far less for Android devices, Android’s 80 % market share is lashing up app revenue growth. The Google Play Store mobile app revenue will grab hold of Apple’s App Store in 2018 according to Radio FreeMobile analyst Richard Windsor.
Not only will Android probably overtake Apple by 2018, if the information is correct Google may take over the lower income market that can’t afford Apple products. If you’re a tech-geek you know that Android as been catching up Apple. Even though nearly every company that release downloadable apps for phones usually release them for iOS first, but they are rapid to release an app with the same features to Google Play.

One of the things that is likely to be shown at Google I/O 2014 in just a few hours is a preview of the next upgrade of Android

Next version of Android apparently confirmed as Google Android 5.0 Lollipop.
(Note: not an official picture of Google Android 5.0 Lollipop.)

While we are unsure that is Google has been delicately hinting that the version number will be a nice round 5.0, we don’t really know what the name of Android 5.0 is going to be in spite of the fact we know it will start with the letter “L”. Nevertheless, just hours before the keynote is to be delivered at I/O, Bulgarian tech insider Nixanbal has said that it has it on good power that the Next version of Android apparently confirmed as Google Android 5.0 Lollipop.

There’s not any further information about the genuine software besides the actual name, however we are expecting Google to be modify the Android interface to some extent, if only of the core Google apps. Rumor has it that Sundar Pichai, head of Android, will be giving a promo of Android 5.0 as part of his crucial delivery, and while it doesn’t appear ready for bulk consumption, should give us a pretty good idea of what to expect in the near future

Samsung's much expected Galaxy S5 flagship, which is all set to see the light of sun at MWC 2014 in Barcelona on Monday, might have been leaked in its full beauty ahead of its official introduction.
A Hardware Zone forum member named OKCATYEON has supposedly clicked a bunch of live images of the Galaxy S5. The alleged leaked images show the Samsung Galaxy S5 in its full fame, and specify the device will feature a ridged silver-coloured lining around the device. If the leaked images turn out to be genuine, we assume that Galaxy S5 will not be a major different approach from company's Galaxy S family design. The supposed leaked image also suggests the Galaxy S5 will embrace a physical button on the front panel. Particularly, the forum member notes the new TouchWiz is not a major renovation from the company's earlier version.

The member has also detailed a few of the expected features such as fingerprint scanner. The forum member claims that the supposed fingerprint scanner feature will necessitate the user to swipe eight times on the home button scanner to register it, and that the Galaxy S5 can register up to three different fingerprints at a time.

In additional, the forum member has claimed that the scanner on the Galaxy S5 can be used with PayPal for approval payments for products within the browser. Other features said to arrive on the Galaxy S5 include a new heart rate sensor that is now said to be included in the device's S Health app.
About the camera on the Galaxy S5, the forum member comments that the device houses a 16-megapixel rear camera, which is very much in-line with earlier leaks. The device is also said to come with IP67 dust and water resistance, which should make the Galaxy S5 quite waterproof, like the recently uncovered Xperia Z2.

Previously believed specifications of the Galaxy S5 include a 5.24-inch AMOLED screen with a QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution; two storage variants- 32GB/64GB; two processor variants - Exynos 6 and Snapdragon 805, and a 3200mAh battery. The optics rumoured for the Galaxy S5 included a 3.2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

It's been the gossip of the virtual world this weekend — so Flappy Bird, What Really Happened with it?

The super successful app, No. 1 on both the Apple and Android app stores, became more trendy than Hanoi-based Dong Nguyen ever expected, so he announced he would take it down on Sunday — tweeting "I can't take it anymore."

(As of that time, the app was still available.)

The straightforward, yet insanely difficult game to get a bird cross a path without banging into anything saw over 50 million downloads and the creator was earning $50,000 a day in ad income, Nguyen told website the Verge previously in the week.

Developers spend incalculable hours modifying their games hoping people will try it out, and find an audience. Who turns their back on a hit, No. 1 game?

Online individuals were scratching their heads.

— "Imagine if (Mark) Zuckerberg walked away from Facebook just because it was hard," tweeted Dale Lavine of Hampton, Virginia.

— Radio DJ Tin Gamboa tweeted that she felt "annoyed" with Dong Nguyen.

— Mike Maney from Doylestown, Pa., thought it was a promotional act. "Whoever hasn't downloaded it already is rushing to do so."

Put significant blogger Robert Scoble in the stunt camp as well.

He surmised on Facebook that Nguyen had by now made enough money in one week to survive a number of years without a salary.

By pulling the game from distribution, he's set up for foremost attention to the next game. "The excitement….will be extraordinary...everyone will buy that new game, making him even richer, because of the panic that he'll delete that game too."

At the forefront of the much-anticipated debut of Samsung's next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, thought to be scheduled for February 24 at Barcelona, a new report has apparently revealed two variants of the device.
Sammobile in a report has claimed that Galaxy S5 has been spotted on AnTuTu benchmarks in two variants: SM-G900H and SM-G900R4. Previously, a report had claimed that the South Korean manufacturer might unveil two variants of the alleged Galaxy S5: a metal variant and a plastic variant.

Sammobile speculates that Samsung might pursue the lead of Apple and release two different models (like the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c) of its Samsung Galaxy S5 targeted at different price range.

As per the report, the alleged SM-G900R4 model of the Galaxy S5 comes with a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AC) processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, QHD display (1440x2560) and 32GB inbuilt storage. Moreover, the alleged SM-G900R4 is seen sporting a 16-megapixel rear camera alongside a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy S5's rumoured SM-G900R4 variant runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, with no word on the TouchWizUI. The alleged Galaxy S5's SM-G900R4 model scores 31,843 on the AnTuTu benchmark.

On the other hand, the alleged SM-G900H Galaxy S5 variant comes with an similar camera sensor and software as seen on the SM-G900R4 model. Its rumoured other specifications are pretty different, with a 1.5GHz Samsung Exynos 5422 processor, ARM Mali-T628 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a full-HD display, and 16GB inbuilt storage. It reportedly scores 35,445 on AnTuTu benchmarks.

Samsung has confirmed its "UnPacked 5" event at the sidelines of MWC 2014 on February 24 in Barcelona. Previously, a report citing an insider with knowledge of Samsung's plans suggested that the Galaxy S5 unveiling will be a low-key event. As per the report, Samsung Galaxy S4's loss in terms of sales, in spite of of a showy launch in New York last year has been a motive for the company to go for a gloomy event. In addition, the report also noted that Samsung could display the Galaxy Gear successor beside with Galaxy S5 at MWC.

The Galaxy S5 is broadly expected to feature the fingerprint scanner, which is said to be integrated into the device's display panel.

Flappy Bird inventor  Nguyen took to Twitter on Saturday revealing his intentions to take down the trendy game.

"I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down," Nguyen tweeted. "I cannot take this anymore."

When asked if there were any legal grounds behind his decision, Nguyen specified that wasn't the case, adding he just couldn't "keep it anymore".

When a few asked Dong Nguyen if he would be agreeable to sell the game, the Vietnam-based developer indicated otherwise.

In his last tweet on the same subject, Nguyen mentioned that we would keep on making (other) games.

Flappy Bird has become a viral sensation in current week, with the game become the number one free app on the iOS App Store in many countries, followed by comparable success on Android's Google Play store. Nguyen had also indicated a Windows Phone version of Flappy Bird was on the way.
Flappy Bird's principle is simple, the player has to find the way for the bird through a sequence of gaps between vertical pipe-shaped obstacles (that appeared same as of Nintendo's Mario in terms of artwork ), rising up and down by tapping the screen to flap the bird's wings.

The game's popularity is supposed to be related to its difficulty, with players challenged to set a high score on a worldwide leaderboard. There are no lives, or in-app purchases in Flappy Bird, and players get a single point for each pair of pipes they fly through, and medals after every ten points all the way up to platinum.
Flappy Bird guide blossomed around the Web and app stores to help frustrated players, who criticize of not being able to stop playing, repeatedly wanting to set a new high score. Users sharing screenshots of their new Flappy Bird high score on Facebook and Twitter became a common sight.

At the similar time, many questioned the game's success, with players and 'critics' pointing out the rough animation, awful graphics, badly placed banner ads, and buggy edge-detection.

Flappy Bird for iOS and Android is available as of writing this post, but that looks set to change shortly.

What do you feel of Dong Nguyen's decision to take down the game? Have you played Flappy Bird yet, and what is your high score? Let us know by means of the comments.

Remember the well-liked Phonebloks? We were inspired by the Phonebloks concept phone that had the ability to switch out a phone’s components the way most users change ringtones. Well, people over at Google and Motorola decided to make the concept bigger and came up with a brilliant new phone, Called Project Ara.
Soon after the official announcement about Lenovo’s getting hold of of Motorola while Project Ara was still only in conceptual phase, a word got out on the fate of the Project Ara modular phone. Motorola’s Advanced Technology group which developed the device, as well as its patents will remain with Google and we would positively love to see a customised phone.
Thus Phonebloks is Now a reality Called Project Ara by Google

Project Ara, the advanced Technology and Products group is working with Phonebloks creator Dave Hakkens on an "endoskeleton (endo) and modules." Announced about 3 months ago on the company blog by Paul Eremenko, the company says it's already "done deep technical work" and is opening the process up to the community and volunteers (aka Ara Scouts, sign up here) to commence n designing hardware modules. Its known goal is to do for hardware what it says Android has done for software: create a vibrant third-party developer ecosystem, lower the barriers to entry, increase the speed of innovation, and considerably compress development timelines."

Suggestions for modules include the phone's CPU, display, extra battery, external sensors or whatever thing anyone can think of. The timeline at present points to a Module Developer's Kit (MDK) release this winter, while those volunteers can expect an exclusive discount when the product launches and the 100 most active are getting free phones. Hakkens has described his design as a "phone worth keeping" -- with the capability to upgrade piece by piece and (optimistically) never experience obsolescence again we'd call this idea a phone certainly worth building.

According to people well-known with the subject, the division behind Project Ara will be integrated within the Android team at Google. The team of approximately one hundred people will make a short trip to relocate from Sunnyvale to Google’s offices in Mountain View, California.

Going forward, work on Project Ara will pick up the pace using Google’s extensive resources. We will be keeping a close observation on any kind of development.

According to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Apple should build a smartphone that supports Android. In an interview with Wired, Wozniak said that "there’s nothing that would keep Apple away from the Android market as a secondary phone market," believing the company could fight very well with other Android manufacturers.

"People like the precious looks of styling and manufacturing that we do in our product compared to the other Android offerings. We could play in two arenas at the same time", he stated further.
Wozniak is no longer indulged with the routine operations at Apple, so even though his opinions on an Android-powered smartphone are appealing, it's very doubtful it will ever happen. If Apple were to enter another smartphone market, perhaps at the low-end, it would more or less certainly run iOS like all other iPhones.

Regardless of his thoughts on wanting Android on an Apple smartphone, Wozniak believes Apple is still at the front position of phone growth. In his eyes, Apple is still an innovative company, particularly as it doesn't simply fill up new features into each iPhone and iOS modification. “You pick up a Samsung phone and say smile and it takes a picture, but how much innovation is that? That’s just throwing in a lot of features.”
Wozniak also has motivating thoughts on an Apple TV or smart watch, the film 'Her', and Moore's Law, so you should head over to Wired to read the full interview.

Installing BusyBox on Non-Rooted Android Devices seemed impossible but after few searches on Google play store I found an application which permits you to install Busybox on Non-Rooted Android Devices! As my many friends found it complex to use those apps I considered of sharing this trick with all my readers. So Let’s get start with this!

If you have a rooted Android device, then your device's generation is ahead of non-rooted Android device. But as in reality, bulk amount of Android users are having non-rooted phones. And definitely this puts a limit on the opportunity to use BusyBox on your device. To crack this problem, developers came up with app called as " BusyBox on Non-Rooted Android".

For those who doesn’t know about busybox :-

Busybox permits you to use added or additional Linux commands  on your phone . BusyBox gives many stripped-down Unix tools in a executive file(single File). It runs in a multiple number of POSIX environments such as Linux (including Android), FreeBSD and others, such as kernels, even though many of the tools it provides are intended to work with interfaces provided by the Linux kernel..!

Now Coming back to main discussion “How To Install BusyBox on Non-Rooted Android Devices “
I made this tutorial into 2 parts Test them:-

An Android device running on version 1.6 or superior.
BusyBox Non-Root app on your device (Play Store link).

2. After Installing BusyBox Non-Root app on your non-rooted device:-

Start the app.
Click on “Install BusyBox” to download and install all BusyBox binary Files.
Once it is installed, click on the BusyBox location and it will duplicate the path to your clipboard to make it simple for you to get to them.

How To Install BusyBox on Non-Rooted Android Devices

While Nokia is likely to unveil its Android phone, codenamed Normandy, on February 24, a new information has emerged claiming that the phone was seen listed on Vietnamese online seller Thegiodidong.com. The listing page in fact has been removed.

A French publication, No Where Else, has posted three images of the so-called Nokia X which supposedly show the device. One of the leaked images of the alleged Nokia X phone shows the front panel housing a Nokia logo on the top of the panel. Another leaked image shows the rear panel of the rumored Nokia X, and appears to be made of plastic, similar to the material set up on Asha devices, while the third leaked image shows the side panel housing a physical button for power and a volume rocker.

Apparently, the phone was listed on the e-commerce site as Nokia Normandy with specifications, including a 4-inch (854 x 480) display, Qualcomm's 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel camera, dual SIM support, and microSD support.
The listing details also stated that Nokia Normandy will run KitKat, Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat, and will give users right to use the Google Play Store. Though, the specifications mentioned on the site can not be confirmed.

The cell phone is believed to be a low-cost phone. A leak from tipster @evleaks has already said that the phone may be called the Nokia X.
While sources says that the phone will run a stripped-down version of Android OS - quite like Amazon's Kindle Fire - and will not align with Google's own version, the new report says somewhat contradictory to what has already been reported about its software platform.

Nokia is likely to reveal a raft of devices, including Nokia Lumia 630, Lumia 635, metal-bodied Lumia 1820 handset, and 8-inch Lumia 2020 tablet at MWC 2014.
